Why I Changed the Names in Faithfully Unleash Your Strengths
Hey, it’s Ronai,
When I first started writing Faithfully Unleash Your Strengths, I fully expected to use the CliftonStrengths® theme names. After all, I’ve been coaching with them for years—as a Certified Eddie Villa Unleash Your Strengths Coach.
But as I prayed and leaned into the assignment God gave me, He made three things very clear:
1. Legal & Licensing
Gallup owns the CliftonStrengths® framework and all 34 theme names. In order to publish my book, create resources, and coach freely without limitation, I needed to use language that was inspired by CliftonStrengths® but uniquely my own.
2. Faith-Based Purpose
The CliftonStrengths® themes are powerful, but they weren’t written with faith in mind. God placed it on my heart to help people see their talents through the lens of Scripture—as gifts from Him, designed for His purpose.
That’s why I translated the themes into what I now call Talents. These Talents are organized into the same four CliftonStrengths® domains, but I call them Spheres—and each name points directly back to God.
3. Clarity + Empowerment for You
My heart in all of this is simple: I want you to see your talents as more than personality traits. They’re tools God has given you for your divine assignment.
These new names are fresh, faith-filled, and easy to apply in your daily walk with Him.
The Four Domains → The Four Spheres
Executing → Sphere of Action: Making sure things are done God’s way
Influencing → Sphere of Impact: Moving others to walk with God
Relationship Building → Sphere of Connection: Connecting people with God
Strategic Thinking → Sphere of Wisdom: Thinking, co-creating, and learning God’s message
And then God revealed a 5th Sphere:

Sphere of Divine Empowerment – Move in faith, led by Christ within.
This is the Spirit of God in you, activating every other Sphere and Talent.

Changing the names wasn’t about making something new just for the sake of it. It was about being faithful to the assignment God gave me—to translate strengths into a language that reflects His truth and empowers His people.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about us. It’s about Christ in us—the hope of glory.
With love and belief in you,
Ronai
